The Parish Trust is pleased to announce the forthcoming launch of Tommy’s Tots, a new Baby & Toddler Group in Trethomas, for the benefit of anyone wishing to attend.

The name of the group is taken after the name of St. Thomas’ Church in Trethomas where the group will be held. St. Thomas’ Church is now managed by The Parish Trust and has become the headquarters of the charity’s operations.

The new Baby & Toddler Group will start in September 2021, with sessions running from 9:30am until 11:00am every Tuesday during Term Time. The first session will commence on Tuesday 7th September, 2021. No booking will be required.

Entry will be £1.50 per household to help cover costs. Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits/snacks will be readily available for both children and their carers, and will be a mix of activities, games, and crafts for the children to enjoy. Each week will have its own theme, and the toddler group will incorporate activities that encourage children to develop their life skills in accordance with the NHS Milestones and Early Learning Goals framework. Sessions will conclude with a time of sharing, and listening to an interactive story from the Bible.

After each session, parents/guardians and their children are welcome to stay for an optional lunch. Lunch will be charged at an additional £2.50 per child and will consist of healthy snacks and sandwiches for the children, sometimes based on the story that has been read that week! Lunch orders will be taken on sign-in at the door.

This will be a great opportunity for parents to create bonds and friendships with one another, as well as a brilliant time for children to play and develop with other children. The Parish Trust are pleased to be working in collaboration with The Parent Network and others to fill gaps in provision in the local community for children, young people, and their parents/guardians.
